Clear rights, clear expectations

Code has terms.
Your music is yours.

LibreDAW separates the application source from the creative work made with it.

Your creative work

LibreDAW does not claim ownership of music or other creative work produced with the program. You may use, publish, license, sell, and distribute your songs, recordings, arrangements, exports, performances, and projects without asking permission or paying royalties to LibreDAW.

Application source

The source code is source-available under LICENSE-CODE.txt. It may be downloaded and used in the unmodified application, but copying, modifying, redistributing, relicensing, selling, or creating a competing application requires prior written permission.

Third-party content

Samples, presets, fonts, icons, and other content supplied by third parties remain subject to their original licenses. A LibreDAW project does not override those licenses. See the source information included with each sample pack.

This page is a plain-language summary. The license files are the controlling text. For commercial legal advice, consult a qualified lawyer in your jurisdiction.
